Yes. Work carried out in people’s homes, for example by tradespeople, can continue. Our advice, however, is that both the tradesperson and household members should be well and have no symptoms of coronavirus. Please see the self-isolation guidance for more information. Like other businesses, tradespeople must take all reasonable measures to ensure that 2m distancing is maintained at all times when working in other people’s households and should follow the advice in our social distancing guidance. Please see the guidance on reasonable measures for more information.
We recommend no work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where a person who is classed as extremely vulnerable unless it is to repair a fault which poses a direct risk to people’s safety – for example, emergency plumbing. In these cases, Public Health Wales can provide advice to tradespeople and households. But no work should be carried out by a tradesperson who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.
If you are buying essential items and there is no reasonable alternative to using shops within Flintshire County Council area, you can do so. However, in most cases we would expect there to be alternative options, even if this involves travelling a bit further than you would normally.
You are able to get essential goods from outside your local area if you can’t reasonably be expected to do this within the area or get them delivered. But in other cases you must stay within the area. Travelling out of the Flintshire County Council area to go to a clothes shop, for example, is not allowed.
Following Covid-19, our showroom will reopen on 22nd June by appointment only in order to protect our staff and customers.
Please call 01244 281311 or email dan@doorwarehousedeeside.com to get in touch or book an appointment.
We are also able to mock up options and quote via email/phone. Send us an email with your requirements. Please include where possible some rough sizes and a photo of the doors/stairs/windows you wish to replace.
Following the ongoing development of Covid-19, we would like to take a moment to assure you that the safety and wellbeing of our customers and team is of the utmost importance. We are constantly monitoring recommended guidelines and government advice and are taking steps so that we can continue to provide our customers with doors, windows, stairs ironmongery and an installation service.
One of the ways identified to reduce the risk to both our team and you is to review our face to face interactions.
Here are the key steps we are taking:
● We are instructing our in store team, delivery & installation team members to try wherever possible to maintain a reasonable distance (approximately 1-2 metres) from other people on-site;
● Our in store team, delivery & installation team members have been equipped with hand sanitiser so that they can maintain a high standard of hygiene;
● We have advised our in store team, delivery & installation team not to request signatures on completion;
● Any in store team, delivery & installation team members who are feeling unwell are required to self-isolate and remain at home as per the government advice
We are constantly reviewing the situation and have continuity plans in place to support should the guidance change.
We thank you for your continued custom and understanding during these unprecedented times.
Best Wishes,
The Door Warehouse Team
